Two Halves

I have this pretty common condition called “being a creeper.” I’d say that this is a modern age phenomenon. Now, I don’t mean creeper like following someone for days and stalking them, I just mean my investigative and listening skills are top notch and because of this I learn a lot about our current culture.

Last night, I was sitting in a public area listening to the hustle and bustle around me and I zoned in on a conversation about relationships between men and women. Usually I would write about what girls need to look for in a guy but I think its extremely important for me to write about what a girl should be like for a man. Now, I am aware that this is a touchy subject for many people, but it is very important because while it is the mans job to spiritually lead “his woman” its also the woman job to follow, within the right confounds. This is where the subject gets touchy because of all the pain going on in the world.

Many people see this as well we’re all created equal and why can’t the woman “wear the pants” but dude, honestly I like wearing dresses every once in a while. The thing is, in our society women are conditioned to become tough and hard and to build walls because of everything that happens to us. We’re unknowingly taught to be independent. Let me just say that there is nothing wrong with being independent but to a certain point. IT IS OK TO NEED PEOPLE, AND TO NEED A MAN. Like seriously though, ITS OK.

So men reading this, just know that since us women are conditioned to be independent, we need someone who can be stronger than us but not in a “put me in my place” kind of way, but in a loving way.

(Also, side note, women aren’t objects we’re humans with feelings and we start to act out on how we’re treated. So if you treat women like queens, if she’s godly she’ll treat you like a king.)

So back to the actual purpose of this blog! Dudes, your woman should want you to love God more than you love her, she should want you to be able to help her. When searching for a girl, don’t pick the one who wears tiny clothes and gives you an awful chase when you try to pursue her. Choose the girl who covers her “goodies” and lets you pursue her in an appropriate, loving fashion. It should be like in Proverbs 18:22 (ESV) where it says “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD.” Here’s a little insight, ‘good things’ shouldn’t make you feel like trash, so if that’s happening in your pursuit process double check it. And by it I mean whom you’re pursuing and the process of your current pursuit.

Now onto a little something for the women. READ PROVERBS 31. Just do it. Also, read all the stories about women mentioned in the bible, those women are in there for a reason, either as a good example or a bad example. It might take you a few weeks to read all the stories, but trust me, its worth it. In my opinion, I also think that as women we should wake up every day and read Proverbs 31 because it puts everything into perspective, its like a really great instruction manual.

Proverbs 31:10- 31(ESV)

The Woman Who Fears the LORD

10 An excellent wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels.
11The heart of her husband trusts in her,
and he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good, and not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She seeks wool and flax,
and works with willing hands.
14 She is like the ships of the merchant;
she brings her food from afar.
15 She rises while it is yet night
and provides food for her household
and portions for her maidens.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
17 She dresses herselfe with strength
and makes her arms strong.
18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable.
Her lamp does not go out at night.
19 She puts her hands to the distaff,
and her hands hold the spindle.
20 She opens her hand to the poor
and reaches out her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of snow for her household,
for all her household are clothed in scarlet.f
22 She makes bed coverings for herself;
her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates
when he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them;
she delivers sashes to the merchant.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing,
and she laughs at the time to come.
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
27 She looks well to the ways of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.

MEN, read that too, look for a woman along those lines, but don’t expect her to be perfect because I sure doubt you’re perfect. haha. Just leave room for grace and forgiveness and it’ll work out well.

When it comes down to it, everything is a partnership. Thats why in the bible it says that a husband and wife become 1, because two halves do make a whole with the right glue. That glue being The Lord, obviously! Let me just say though, Im not an expert on this in any way, shape, or form but I felt that this was something I need to talk about.

I hope everyone has an amazing week and a wonderful weekend. You’re all spectacular, keep in mind that you have everyday as an opportunity to be a world changer. I love you all.

P.S. If the people that were talking about this last night read this post, thank you for the inspiration.

XoXo,
